TOXICOLOGÍA (EN INGLÉS)
The
Ecological Exposure Research Division: The Ecological Exposure
Research Division (EERD) is providing four U.S. EPA statistical
computer programs which are to be used to perform Dunnett's Procedure,
Probit Analysis, the Trimmed Spearman-Karber Method and the Linear
Interpolation (ICp) Method. The programs have been reviewed and
tested on a series of aquatic toxicity data sets by scientists and
statisticians in the EERD.

Bioaccumulation
Fish Model. Canadian Environmental Modelling Center, Trent Univ:
This BASIC single organism model treats the steady state uptake
and release of an organic chemical by a fish. Both bioconcentration
(uptake from the water) and biomagnification (the increase in chemical
concentration from food to fish) are included in this bioaccumulation
model. The uptake processes are by respiration through the gills
and food consumption. The contaminant losses occur by transfer through
the gills, by egestion in feces, by metabolic conversion, and by
growth dilution. It should be noted that some values in the model
are illustrative only and any experimental data available should
be substituted.
Foodweb
Model. Canadian Environmental Modelling Centre: This is a mass
balance model of contaminant flux through an aquatic foodweb. The
dietary preference of each species is expressed in the form of a
predator/prey matrix. The model is in BASIC and as supplied treats
PCBs in an eight-species foodweb in Lake Ontario. It can be modified
to address other situations as desired and can treat any number
of organisms. The output gives the prevailing concentrations throughout
the foodweb as well as detailed uptake/clearance data for each species.

Flexihealth
